BIO

Roberto Sironi is an Italian designer, who graduated in Industrial Design at Milan’s Politecnico University. He then started working with design studios, while fine-tuning his own idea of design.
Roberto conceives every project like a story, developed through a research that takes into consideration several aspects, from rituals of utilization and anthropological factors to historical and cultural references. His goal is to draw the expressive potential of the materials that he uses by means of a sombre and minimalist style, trying to reveal the poetry within the objects. Every project is like a little journey, consisting in new discoveries and new people met along the way.
Since 2015, when he debuted at Milan Design Week, Roberto has worked with concept stores and design galleries, presenting his works in many exhibitions around Milan, Paris and Berlin.
Currently, Roberto combines his professional activity with the universitary research, at the Design Department of Milan’s Politecnico.

I met Simone Desirò for the first time in 2017, when we started to work together on the project “Ruins”. From the beginning, Simone demonstrated remarkable social skills, as well as a constant enthusiasm and commitment to the project that I have rarely found in other people. About his technical skills I don’t have much to say, his pieces speak for him: impeccable execution and great attention to detail make him a real master of Rima marble.

My collaboration with the workshop Antonio Rossi began after a journey in Gubbio, the land of ancient Etruscan and rich in Bucchero, a particular local variety of ceramic. Gaetano Rossi, who carries on with passion his father’s tradition started in the early 30s, can be defined as one of the leading experts of manual processing and coal firing of this magnificent material.
