Born in 1984 in Marostica, Simone Crestani began working with glass when he was only 15, in Massimo Lunardon’s workshop.
After a long apprenticeship he opened his studio, which is now located in Venice, continuing to refine his skills through research and innovation, and bringing together technique and poetry to create a personal and recognizable style.
His work is distinguished by the use of transparent glass, which is lampworked, blown, or shaped with other sculptural techniques, thus creating works of art that are large in size, and carefully detailed at the same time, in which glass seems to overcome its material dimension, to become a pure conceptual element. The inspiration comes from the natural world: the forms of animals and plants are crystallized, in a celebration of life.
His creations have been exhibited at major initiatives in the glass and art world, and he is often invited as a teacher and visiting artist by prestigious art academies and glass schools around the world.
