Alberto Bagetto is an artisan from Piedmont. While he was studying agronomy, he felt drawn to the ceramist trade while watching artisans at work in their ateliers. He then started modelling the earth as a self-taught apprentice, while also experimenting with stoneware and porcelain, until he opened his atelier in Cirié, in the Basso Canavese area, near Turin.
Today, he creates everyday household items and furnishings, hand-turning and glazing them with natural paints in keeping with Eastern tradition. His unique works are the result of an accurate research, focused on slow, precise movements.
As he deeply values the way his results are achieved, Alberto Bagetto has chosen to personally build his entire equipment, from the potter’s wheel to the furnace, from his tools to the air-intake chamber, up to the software for enamel-paint formulation.
