Born in Spresiano near Treviso, Bruno Barbon is a master wood carver and restorer. After learning the trade in a bottega in Trieste, he resolved to open his atelier in Venice in 1959.
For over fifty years, he has been manufacturing candleholders, frames, plates, putti, sculptures and all kinds of furniture and is one of the few artisans still sculpting the famous Venetian “moretti”, (figurines of Moors) that made him famous. As a skilled wood carver, he creates one-of-a-kind pieces on demand or according to the client’s design as well as copies and reproductions of ancient works.
Master Barbon is also a skilled restorer of chairs, consoles, furniture and wooden works from any epoch and style.
Throughout his life, he has received many awards and accolades for his career and engagement in favour of Venetian craftsmanship.
