Bruno Petronzi was born in Turin, where he studied design and the applied arts. His interest in experimentation and search for the avant-garde led him to explore creativity on the borderline between art and design, focusing in particular on illumination.
His vast production is varied, comprising original and playful functional pieces. Objects that challenge established practice, based on artistic intuition and developed with strict rationality. Often the shapes and ideas are inspired by elements traditionally perceived as being ‘negative’, which are playfully transformed: fishbones, insects and weapons are turned into fun lamps and furnishings.
Bruno Petronzi also creates made-to-measure artistic lighting systems for bars, restaurants, clubs and stores.
