Ilaria Pera has nurtured a passion for stained glass for the last 30 years. She gained her qualification as a ‘Maestro d’Arte’ (Master Craftsperson) from the Institute of Art in Lucca and learned her craft alongside experts in the trade, before opening her workshop Ilaria Vetrate.
By listening to and interpreting her customer’s wishes, she creates art works that are perfectly at home in the setting for which they have been designed, whether a place of worship, a private home or a business, such as a bar or restaurant. She uses traditional techniques such as fired grisaille painting, lead or copper came and soldering, sanding and fusion. She uses the same techniques to make lamps, mirrors, shevles, frames and other furnishing accessories.
Ilaria also carries out restoration work on religious art on request.
