Caterina, Alessio and Rosanna started their “Luce Buio” (Light and Darkness) atelier in 2009 in Oristano, aiming at combining their individual skills and interests and establishing a
common, original art ceramics brand.
Part of their production is dedicated to Sardinian traditional pieces, like, for example, Oristano’s jugs, which are never faithfully duplicated, but reinterpreted in their decorative motifs and shapes. Most of their work, instead, is centred on the research of new shapes, decorations, and colours, to create modern, contemporary taste ceramics and design objects, still drawing their inspiration from local artisan culture.
Their experimentation, however, embraces all internationally renowned ceramics techniques, from enamelling to stoneware, from raku to pit-fire.
