Pia Virgilio is a ceramic restorer. She is specialised in the conservative and aesthetic restoration of terracotta, majolica earthenware, porcelain, biscuit, stoneware, and painted metal. Born in Sicily, she studied in Faenza’s historical Istituto G. Ballardini. She also attended first-rate workshops, refresher courses, and seminars on the history of art and the history of European ceramics. In those years, she focused on earthenware and porcelain dating from the Italian Renaissance. Later, she included 18th-century European earthenware and porcelain productions. Her workshop is also specialised in the restoration of ceramic works by 20th century authors (Lucio Fontana, Fausto Melotti, Giò Ponti, Baj, Crippa, Dorazio, Fiume, Leoncillo, Malevic, Valentini, Zauli and many others). In her own studio, she pursues mimetic restoration with cutting-edge systems, non-destructive techniques, reversible materials and invisible restorative applications, undetected even by Wood’s lamp.
Pia Virgilio relies on a large clientele of private collectors, antiquarians, auction houses, and art galleries. She is also actively engaged in important public works for Institutions, Foundations and Museums like FAI, Fondazione Fausto Melotti and the Cultural Heritage Agency.

Sei unica!
