Born in Melilli, in the province of Siracusa in Sicily, Eugenio Vazzano is a multiethnic artist who travelled worldwide, mostly in the United States, and is still very fond of the culture of his native land.
Today, in his Melilli workshop, a former 19th-century caponata factory, he creates hand-decorated materials based on precious antique fabrics, with a mixture of Mediterranean colours and contemporary style.
His production is extremely diversified and includes both household items, like curtains, carpets and cushions, and clothing items, scarves, kaftans and hats. These “pezze” (clothes) highlight the story and the spirit of Sicilian noblemen, their history, culture and elegance.

Eugenio Vazzano’s world is wide, like his vision, the result of a life spent travelling abroad and of his working experiences, which took him from Florence, where he pursued his academic studies, as far as the United States, where he experienced, and merged into, the American country and folk traditions.
A Sicilian cosmopolitan, an artist and a maker, he is the author of fashion and home collections, as well as agricultural products and soaps, made according to the ancient traditions, with olive oil and scented essences, accompanied by cloth bags containing wardrobe perfumes.
Quite recently, he founded Tasting Sicily, a company producing and selling top-quality Sicilian products: jams, sauces, pâtés and salt flavoured with local seasonings.
