Stefano Bertoli is a young master luthier. After graduating from the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan in 2014, he started his apprenticeship in the workshop of maestro Carlo Chiesa where he learned the techniques of handcraftsmanship and started the reproduction of classical musical instruments. Later, he opened his own workshop in Milan where today he constructs, varnishes and restores stringed instruments. In 2017 he attended a course in wood sculpture to carve and decorate instrument heads. He also participated in the Concorso Triennale di Cremona in 2018, and that same year he started teaching varnishing and restoration at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan.
In July 2020, Stefano was the winner of the third edition of the Artigiano del Cuore competition.
