Ziranu & Balvis woodshop was founded by Giovanni Ziranu in 1960; nowadays his nephew Francesco Balvis, gifted woodworker, manages the shop. Francesco learned from uncle Giovanni all the classic woodworking techniques, including traditional carving and inlaying methods, but he then expanded the range of the shop’s production to include more modern items. The home interior design items he creates in his workshop in Orani are deeply inspired by Sardinia’s traditional crafts, but with a more contemporary twist in terms of functionality and style: his furnishings, such as tables, chairs, boxes and decorations, also available on commission, are all high-quality and extremely well crafted – artfully made in order to last a lifetime.
