BIO

Davide Aquini was born in Venice in 1982. He began his career in the field of advertising, then he founded his own business in 2007.
From his passion for drawing he developed a strong interest for 3D design, thus deciding to continue his studies in Product and Interaction Design, by taking classes between Padua and Milan.
His work as a designer is now focused on projects in collaboration with excellent artisanal companies: by combining his creativity with the know-how of great master craftspeople, he creates high-quality, unique design pieces. He has worked with Cooperativa Artieri Alabastro for the first edition of DoppiaFirma, with Gambaro & Tagliapietra in Murano for the exhibition “Vetro e Profumo” at Musei Civici di Venezia, with mosaicist Ursula Corsi, stonemason Claudio Morelli and with the company Lundhs Real Stone. In 2018 he received the Wallpaper* Design Award for the “Best Home Lab”.
He is professor and coordinator of the Professional Training Program in Graphics at IED Venezia. In recent years he has deepened his knowledge of archaeology and ancient art history by taking a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage at the UTIU in Rome. He firmly believes that a designer who works in the field of arts and crafts must study and learn the history and the heritage of their country.
