Fabroviolins is a lutherie workshop founded by Lucas Fabro, young luthier from Cremona. Always passionate about music and woodworking, after taking violin lessons with Master Roberto Cuccurullo, he decided to combine these two interests by moving to Cremona to study Lutherie at the Antonio Stradivari Institute, for which he was granted a scholarship by the Stauffer Foundation.
He builds his stringed instruments taking care of each step of the process: violins, violas and cellos are crafted with extreme attention to acoustic performance and each part is handmade. The most important step is varnishing, for which Lucas developed his personal formula. He also attended classes and seminars on wood processing in Croatia, eventually learning all about the process of preparing materials for lutherie, from tree-cutting to proper drying: today, he applies this knowledge in order to select the best wood for his instruments. His workshop is located in the historical city centre, a few steps away from Stradivari’s house.
