Fiorella Anelli is a luthier based in Cremona.
Always passionate about music, her adventure in the world of lutherie began with her studies at “Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano” (City of Milan’s Civic school of Lutherie); she graduated as Master Luthier in 2004, specializing in building and restoring stringed instruments. The following year she moved to Cremona, where she worked as an assistant in various workshops all over the city. In order to refine her style, over time she delved into the history of ancient instruments and baroque lutherie. Today in her workshop she builds violas and violins inspired by the historic Cremonese school, employing only the best seasoned woods such as spruce from Val di Fiemme and maple from the Balkans, characterized by excellent acoustic qualities. Thanks to a special oil-based varnish derived from ancient recipes, her instruments are endowed with warm and intensely rich shades of colours.
