Maria Serena Colombo learned the techniques of this ancient craft by attending a course in goldsmithing. During later apprenticeships in various workshops in Lombardy, she perfected her skills in incision and other associated techniques: calligraphy, satining and modelling, scoring and shading, thus specialising in the stile antico or Florentine style. She then founded the Maseco workshop in Meda where she now produces handcrafted jewellery in 18 carat gold, with precious gemstones and pearls, all sourced from certified producers in line with her approach for fair trade in the entire production chain. Each piece is unique in its design, while inspired by Florentine tradition.
Maria Serena also collaborates with the renowned jewellers Buccellati by creating splendid, handcrafted pieces for the brand.
