Taruschio is a ceramic workshop located in Appignano, a small town near Macerata renowned for its majolica production. The workshop was founded in 1980 with the purpose of keeping the ceramic tradition alive, while at the same time embracing the technical and aesthetic challenges of contemporary times. Here, white clay artefacts are hand-crafted, then fired and hand-decorated: decorative items and furnishings such as clocks, perforated lamps, plates and ornaments, are made in many different styles. These artisans’ vast experience allows them to master the various techniques and secrets of the trade: Taruschio provides a wide choice of objects and collections, either inspired by tradition – such as the Sicilian Moorish heads or the Apulian “Pumi” lucky charms – or more playful and contemporary design items.
