Adele Stefanelli started to follow courses in ceramics in Geneva, after having visited the Fondazione Baur. She trained in the technique of throwing pottery from the finest master potters in Deruta and Nove and during her international travels, she has had many occasions to study and perfect other traditional techniques that can now be seen in her characteristic style: from the simplicity of Sudanese ceramics to the aesthetics of the Joseon dynasties of South Korea where she worked by the side of the maestro Kim Se Yong and the Kintsugi technique that she studied in China and Japan. Today in her workshop in Giudecca, she creates on her wheel a series of decorative objects and tableware in a simple and refined style, and also carries out repair works using the Kintsugi technique with pure gold. She prepares her glazes using ashes from different plants, according to ancient recipes of China and Korea.
