Carta Muriel is a small craft workshop located in Borgonuovo Chiesa, near Verona. Here Sonia Padovanello creates handmade paper, which she employs to create wonderful wedding stationery: invitations and announcements, reception menus, wedding registries and other accessories. Each item is handmade and sustainable: the whole production is carried out within the workshop only, exclusively implementing reclaimed materials such as paper, fabric scraps or “Tree-free” fibres, that is, coming from sources other than wood. Her signature craft processing is an ancient technique in which cellulose is transformed into a pulp and pressed into the shape of a sheet with irregular edges. Sonia’s goal is to generate the smallest impact possible: that’s why she collaborates with other companies who share her environmentally conscious vision, thus creating a tight-knit network of scrap suppliers who provide her with raw reclaimed materials. She also holds educational workshops in schools.
