Paola Argiolas is a ceramic artist with more than twenty years of experience in pottery making. In 2001 she opened her studio Ceram’art in Monserrato, near Cagliari, where she crafts ceramic objects and interior design décors in her distinctive contemporary style. Her pieces, perfectly balanced between aesthetics and functionality, are all entirely handmade and decorated in the “buccherostyle (the ancient Etruscan form of black earthenware) – a technique which Paola emphasizes in most of her creations and which she personalized in order to achieve silver details and nuances – while the surfaces are often carved or polished, resulting in a wide range of textures. Plates, vases, decorative objects, sculptures and other artworks are thus fashioned in a variety of shapes and patterns, always inspired by nature in all its forms.
