The Usai family has carried on a tradition of ceramics inspired by Sardinian culture and identity for five generations. Doriana Usai, who today runs the workshop in Assemini, learnt the foundations of the trade in the workshop of her father, Efisio. She continued her studies at the high school specializing in art in Cagliari and attended prestigious courses in Faenza, Montelupo Fiorentino and Deruta, as well as specializations in expressive didactics and art therapy. She has won the championship of working at the potter’s wheel several times in Faenza and she takes part in national and international exhibitions on Sardinian crafts. In her workshop she creates jewellery, home accessories and personalized objects entirely made and decorated by hand, with refined expressive and decorative results.
