Davide Russo is the craftsman behind Dr. Unclewood. His passion for wood came about almost by accident: when his daughter was born, he crafted a changing table and other furniture pieces for her nursery. So, in 2010, he started studying and experimenting with different woodworking techniques, finding his true artistic and creative calling in woodturning. With very little mechanical help, mainly relying on his manual skills and his imagination, playing with shapes, colours and the natural traits of materials, he creates furniture, home accessories and design objects in a very contemporary style, always curating every detail and giving special attention to sustainability. Davide, in fact, utilizes exclusively locally sourced or, at the very least, Italian wood, preferably coming from urban parks’ trimmings or firewood in general.
