Elena Ghirardi is a craftswoman with the creative soul of a true artist.
She has always been attracted by the harmony of the essential lines and the textures of the fine fabrics of the Biella region, her homeland.
Eager to create something of her own, which could embody elegance and innovation, she created her own line of art objects, decorative and functional at the same time: her lamps in ceramic and natural fabrics. Finally, after more than twenty years of exprience in the Italian and French fashion industry, her brand EG Filodiluce (EG thread of light) was born.
Elena makes her lamps in her home-atelier in Graglia, near Biella, by using fine fabrics, such as alpaca, cashmere or wool, but also linen and jute, stitched with leather threads for the lampshades; while the base is made from clay.
Highly customisable and completely handcrafted, these furnishing accessories are destined to last over time: in fact, customers can request to engrave or paint a phrase or their initials on the base, and choose the fabric and colours, thus creating their custom-made lamp, together with the crafter.
Elena’s lamps bring warmth, harmony and a “thread of light” into homes.
