Giacomo Mensio is a young instrument maker specialised in the construction and set up of guitars and other plucked instruments. He already showed a passion and talent for music as a child: he played the classical guitar and attended the Suzuki Music School and then studied wood instrument restoration at the Istituto d’Arte in Saluzzo. He continued his studies at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan while also graduating in classical guitar at the Conservatoire. He completed his practical training by following an apprenticeship in the workshop of maestro Lucio Antonio Carbone. Having finished his practical training and receiving his diploma as luthier, he returned to Piedmont where he now teachers guitar to schoolchildren and constructs classical guitars and restoring other plucked instruments in his own workshop.
