Guido Capitanio is a Venice-based master luthier. He started working in wood as a child, under the guidance of his uncle, a prominent Navy officer, who taught him the rudiments of ship modelling. With a passion for craftsmanship and instrument making, as a young boy Guido took on a role in the management of the family company and in 2006, transformed what was a grocery shop into an atelier for the construction and repair of classical guitars. Thanks to the experience gained in his professional career, today the atelier produces musical instruments and carries out repairs to old instruments using only the finest quality materials and precious woods often, cut from solid blocks of hardwood.
