Isabella Villafranca Soissons is the Director of the Conservation and Restoration Department of Open Care, a company based in Milan. The company was established in 2003 and offers integrated services for the conservation, management and valorisation of art works and collections.
She graduated in Architectural restoration both in Turin and in Florence, and she is a professor at many academies and universities: she also gives master courses and training courses. As a lecturer, she has taken part in important conferences and international meetings dedicated to conservation. She is the Vice President of the scientific committee for the courses “Plastic in art and for art’s sake”.
The Conservation and Restoration Department of Open Care – Servizi per l’Arte consists of five laboratories specialised in ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, as well as in the restoration of paintings, frescos, works of ancient, modern and contemporary art, timber furniture, tapestries, antique carpets, and fabrics. They are all supported by a diagnostics laboratory.
The Department takes care of private and institutional collections of banks, museums and foundations.
