Kara Van Petrol is a craft leather workshop based in Florence.
The company was founded in 1979 by Rossella Strippoli and Alberto Alberti. A couple both in life and on the job, these two designers with a background in philosophy and architecture still run the business and its craft production today. With the purpose of creating durable products, each accessory is crafted starting from the finest hides, employing only vegetable-tanned leather which is then hand-processed by Rossella and Alberto, who design and craft each item personally: all their handbags, backpacks, suitcases, wallets and other clothing accessories, all Made in Italy, successfully combine quality and beauty with functionality and sustainability. The atelier is located in the heart of the city, in Borgo Santissimi Apostoli, surrounded by the monuments of Florence’s historical centre.
