In 1979, La Vacchetta Grassa started their atelier in Modena’s historical centre, and, to this day, they are passing on the city’s century-old leatherwork tradition. The atelier, located in a 15th-century palace near the Duomo, hosts second-generation artisans who are making belts, wallets, and bags in vegetable-tanned cowhide leather and other precious hides, like crocodile or shagreen. The products of the different collections have always been designed as in-house productions, thus supporting an unmistakable stylistic identity.
A recently-created accessory line, named “Tradizionale Tipico di Modena”, features leatherware inspired by the town’s typical food-and-wine gastronomy.
