Lucia Tarantola graduated in 1987 at Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, specialising in the restoration of paper artwork.
She started her activity in 1988 and established two studios, one in Milan and one in Verona, where she is restoring ancient and modern works made with different techniques, namely graphite, charcoal, inks, tempera, oil, collage or engraving. With great expertise and care, she can give new lustre to documents and ancient maps, Eastern posters and works. Also, she restores three-dimensional works like world globes, architectural models, fans, papier mâché dolls and a number of other objects and toys in similar materials. Beside restoration, she offers advice on the value and the state of preservation of the items, also planning and carrying forward bespoke maintenance.
All along her career, Lucia Tarantola has often been cooperating with public and private bodies, while still upgrading her knowledge and technical know-how regarding interventions, materials and equipment, and engaging in a constant dialogue with experienced colleagues and partners.
