Mauro Sarti graduated as a maestro d’arte from the Bologna Istituto d’Arte with a specialisation in pictorial decoration. After 20 years experience as a designer and project manager in the trades fair sector, his passion for craftsmanship led him to open his own workshop in 2007. Under the brand name Mauby & Wood, he handcrafts refined jewellery, personal accessories, and decorative ornaments from prized woods sourced worldwide. Mauro carefully follows every step in the production, from the initial design to polishing, combining rare and exotic essences, resins, metals and also other materials. His spinning tops are unique and distinctive — the article that started his activity — precious objects for the discerning collector. His creations are exhibited in shops, museum and gallery bookshops and he also holds courses in wood turning and modelling.
