Pecore Attive is the first company in southern Italy which has started to use again and promote the wool of the autochthonous Puglia sheep, the Gentile di Puglia breed or the “Merinos of the South”, which is in danger of extinction and well known for the fineness of its wool. Founded in 2010 in the heart of the region, in Altamura, Filippo Clemente’s workshop has resumed a noble tradition linked to the ancient art of tailoring, following a slow manufacturing process which includes first of all following the breeding and selecting the fleeces, then the spring shearing and manual selection. This process is sustainable in all its phases, and offers innovative products of design inspired by the Puglia tradition. In the shop, there are fashion and home accessories, made from very fine carded yarns and in hand-fulled felt, using lye based on olive oil.
