Maria Flocco graduated in Architecture in 2002 but, following her love of artisan creativity, she later started her own Telàio project, in which hand-stitched embroidery is applied onto metal perforated sheets with leather ribbons.
Plain metal surfaces become canvasses where Maria , thanks to her creativity and skills, draws and embroiders patterns inspired to traditional “warp and weft” fabrics, to crochet and embroidery patterns or to Vienna’s woven-straw chairs. Creative possibilities are potentially endless and open to numberless applications.
Industrial standard objects thus become uniquely evocative design works, with a contemporary, innovative allure.
