Antonio dei Rossi is a master glassmaker. He lives in Treviso, but his workshop is located on the island of Burano: here, with his hands, he gives life to design objects, unique furnishings, jewelry and works of art, employing the classic Venetian murrine to compose miniature portraits, figures or animals.
After studying at the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he began exhibiting his work both in Italy and abroad, exploring different techniques. For many years he also worked alongside his father in the furnace: an experience that allowed him to become thoroughly familiar with glass and master its workmanship.
From the late 1990s he began to make his first works in Figurative Murrina, an art of which he soon became a recognized exponent, and of which he now remains the sole heir. In his hands, this tradition is enhanced: in fact, an ancient technique becomes contemporary design, thanks to a work made of passion, great dedication and in-depth study.
Antonio begins with drawing on paper, preferring subjects of flora and fauna, and then proceeds with the composition of minute murrine, or glass rods a few millimeters thick: a refined and meticulous work that requires a lot of patience, but above all technique and talent. His works are exhibited in important public and private collections, such as the Murano Glass Museum.
