Giovanni Gualdani is a restorer of paintings on canvas and panel and of painted wooden statues. After graduating from the specialist school of precious stones (Scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio dell’Opificio delle Pietre Dure) in 2017, he set up his business just outside Florence, and now works all over Italy, as well as continuing with his research and meeting with colleagues.
Giovanni’s work involves all types of conservation, including relining paintings, restoring antique frames, consolidating paintings and wooden structures, making climatised display boxes, treating for woodworm and onsite maintenance.
He has worked on important artworks at the Galleria Borghese in Rome, the National Gallery of Umbria and other important religious monuments.
