Giovanni Mengoni is a master ceramist from Perugia. He has always been deeply tied to the Umbrian territory and its artistic craftsmanship traditions. Indeed, after studying Painting at Perugia’s Fine Art Academy, he collaborated with various ceramic manufacturers as a potter, moulder and decorator. He worked alongside famous artists and architects, such as Nello Teodori and Ugo La Pietra, on the development of their projects. In the last few years he dedicated himself mainly to research and innovation in the ceramic field, studying traditional processing techniques and their application in contemporary design and furniture making. His practice focuses on the production of the Etruscan “bucchero”, traditional Italian majolica and terracotta, as well as tableware and porcelain items.
