La Fosina is a blacksmith workshop located in Rocca Pietore, near Belluno.
A historic workshop, founded in 1923 by Carlo De Biasio, who learned the art of ironworking from a craftsman from the nearby Val Gardena. This knowledge was then passed down to his son Ermanno and nephews Carlo and Davide, who, with the same passion and expertise, today keep creating decorative and furnishing metal pieces, unique in their originality and detailed finishing.
This tiny workshop seems to be untouched by time, and to this day still retains the atmosphere of a “fosina” (which in Ladino means blacksmith forge), with its workbenches, forge, tools and the characteristic soot accumulated over decades of forging and welding. Today brothers Carlo and Davide De Biasio work here, giving life to wrought iron and corten objects, either in a natural finish or hand-painted, sometimes even based on their grandparents’ original designs: garden or indoor sculptures and decorative or functional objects, such as wall-mounted elements, chandeliers, lanterns and other furnishings.
