Marco Ziviani is a master wood carver with 30 years of experience in restoring and reconstructing wooden artifacts such as sculptures, decorative elements, friezes, reliefs, armrests and other furniture components. His production is entirely hand-crafted: in his workshop in Grancona, near Vicenza, he creates only unique or custom-made pieces. Over the years he specialized in the restoration and reproduction of ancient picture frames, working for museums, foundations and art galleries. He also cooperates with a master organ maker, restoring the decorations and structures of ancient instruments, as well as carving sculptural elements for new ones; he creates wooden prototypes for local foundries. He teaches wood carving at Villa Fabris’ Foundation in Thiene, and he is also a member of “El Felze”, an association of craftsmen who contribute to the construction and decoration of Venetian gondolas.
