Massimo Bertin has been working clay for more than 10 years: he started, almost by chance, by discovering the Raku technique. This is when his journey into experimenting with different techniques and materials started. Recently in collaboration with the Primo Fuoco workshop in Lonato del Garda near Brescia he left his job as an IT technician to transform his passion into a true profession by becoming a ceramic artist. His preferred technique is the potter’s wheel to make stoneware objects: today he produces everyday objects, kitchen and table utensils such as glasses, cups, plates, and bowls which he decorates with simple motifs and glazes. His work has a very simple and minimalist style and inspired by Oriental cultures while each article is handcrafted and unique. He also holds courses in basic ceramics and the use of the potter’s wheel in his workshop.
