Toni De Stefano is a master luthier specializing in building and restoring plucked musical instruments, such as classical, electric, historical and antique guitars. In his workshop in Chianciano Terme, near Siena, he also provides repair, fine tuning and string replacement services.
Born in Milan, Toni studied at the prestigious “Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano” (City of Milan’s Civic school of Lutherie) where he learned all the refined building techniques for plucked instruments, especially those used in early music. He soon started to build traditional Spanish classical guitars and, after his diploma, he studied and practiced in order to deepen his knowledge of historical instruments, specializing in baroque and 19th century instruments. Today, he crafts each instrument entirely by hand in his atelier, with great attention to sound quality.
