Ceramica Gatti 1928 is an important majolica manufacturer, the oldest one in Faenza. Founded in 1928, it soon became renowned for its research in terms of innovative techniques and artistic languages. Many important artists passed through here, first the futurists Marinetti and Balla, then Sottsass, Accardi, Paladino and Ontani, until it became a reference point for the innovation of Faenza’s majolica.
Today the workshop carries on the tradition, both in terms of design and crafting techniques: in the historical atelier, still in its original location, decorative and functional elements are crafted both in the traditional Faentine style or with a more contemporary twist. All pieces are glazed and decorated with metallic highlights, Gatti’s signature style, a technique developed by the workshop itself. Inside the venue, next to the workshop, there is also a ceramic museum.
