Liana Scarano is a master artisan based in Bolzano. She graduated as a goldsmith at Palazzo Spinelli Institute for Art and Restoration, in Florence. Driven by a creative urgency of sorts, thanks to her almost spontaneous manual skills, she creates unique jewels, similar in style but never identical. Each creation is entirely handmade, from design to finishing, aiming at creating original, unique and one-of-a-kind pieces, as well as aspiring to that imperfect detail which makes each jewel a truly exclusive object. Liana employs traditional goldsmithry techniques putting them in service of the pursuit of her own personal vision of jewellery, thus achieving contemporary shapes. She teaches basic jewellery making techniques in high schools for young students at risk of dropping out, through projects co-funded by the ESF (European Social Fund).
