Luca Canavicchio started working in the applied arts from a young age in the family workshop in Florence. After gaining his diploma in Decorative Painting and Restoration and a degree in Contemporary Art History, in 2005 he went on to study ceramic techniques, which became his main focus.
Today he produces sculptures, everyday items and wall art in his workshop in Borgo San Lorenzo, applying his experience of ceramics and painting. Every piece is unique, created to meet simple functional needs and sophisticated concepts of beauty. His ‘Bestiario’ (Menagerie) collection explores the animal world, taking animal forms and reducing them to harmonious, simple geometric shapes.
Extremely well-known in Italy, he takes part in large numbers of exhibitions and shows in his field.
