Antonio Maria Scanu is a master blacksmith from Benetutti, a small town in the province of Sassari where he runs his workshop, Officina d’Arte Fabbrile. His passion for the craft derives from the family smithy, where his father taught him the artisanal metalworking techniques used to create the typical wrought iron artifacts of their local tradition. Antonio Maria went on to perfect his skills in Stia and in Vittorio Veneto, where he also won prizes and awards at the local biennial arts and crafts festivals. In his workshop, master Antonio designs and forges interior design items and home furnishings, iron gates and gratings as well as complex and articulate sculptures and artworks showcasing his great technical virtuosity.
