Rossana Brambilla is a ceramist with a great passion for artistic research and clay processing. In her workshop “Di Terra, di mani, di fuoco”, located in Torre de Roveri, close to Bergamo, she holds ceramic classes and creates unique craft objects with her own hands. Originally trained as a painter, she always felt limited by the two-dimensional possibilities of the canvas; therefore, she found her true calling in ceramics. She first came in contact with this world in 2012 and, after attending courses between Deruta, Vicenza and Bergamo, in 2019 she turned this passion into a profession.
Thanks to her studies, her training alongside renowned masters, her never ending practice and her personal inclinations, over time she developed her own personal language, resorting to reducing atmosphere firing techniques, such as bucchero, saggar and obvara firings, raku and naked raku; and privileging the use of “terra sigillata”, which is obtained through a decanting process, over enamels. She took part in important exhibitions and competitions in the field.
