Atelier Nuanda is a place where tradition and craftsmanship meet, founded in Bologna in 2022 by Cecilia Rinaldi, designer and textile artist.
Her creative approach combines experimentation between different disciplines, attention to design and craftsmanship. This results in a vision in which the contemporary combines harmoniously with a still vibrant past, made up of ancient traditions and techniques.
Cecilia Rinaldi has developed an innovative leather-working technique, which makes it possible to create light and original artefacts. A knitted textile structure is created from the weaving process: a leather weft that can be used as a load-bearing and decorative element at the same time, and which can be used as a base or covering for fashion accessories, furniture, artistic and decorative artefacts.
The atelier’s production consists exclusively of one-off or commissioned pieces, thus promoting sustainable manufacturing that combines functionality and design. Nuanda’s creations are all made only from vegetable-tanned and recycled leather.
In 2024, Cecilia Rinaldi won the La Grande Bellezza by Starhotels award with her work ‘Amphora’.
