Laura Carraro and Mohamed Chabarik were attending the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo when they met for the first time. In 2006, Mohamed opened his workshop in Udine’s historical centre and, in 2010, he established a partnership with Laura, to undertake a common art project.
While inspired by the Italian High Crafsmanship tradition, their works are reinterpreted in a personal, contemporary perspective. They design and create both large and small mosaics, based on their artistic experimentation or on dialogues with their clients. Also, they create collections of small objects, jewels and furnishings as well as architectural design. In their atelier, they work alongside skilled mosaic artists and, over time, they have established new collaborations with artists, designers, craftsmen, institutions and companies working in different fields.
