Cottoartigiano is a craft company specializing in floorings and claddings in terracotta, wood and parquet, ceramic and stone, all made starting from antique reclaimed materials sourced from period villas and farmhouses, which are then re-processed and restored to give life to custom creations. Paolo di Donato founded his business in 2000 after almost 30 years of experience working in several kilns specializing in craft terracotta floors: he repurposed the quarters of an old post station from the 16th century in Nepi, in the province of Viterbo, turning it into a workshop with a large warehouse and a showroom. Here, you can find a large sample collection, thanks to which customers can choose how to furnish their home with customized solutions. Besides floorings, they also make tables, arches, fireplaces, wall claddings and other furnishings. They carry out restorations on antique floors as well. All processes are executed by hand on the premises, preserving all the original characteristics and colours of the materials.
The company has carried out major commissions both in Italy and abroad, from France to Germany, from England to the United States.
