Este Ceramiche is one of the oldest European factories: its story began in the 18th century, when Girolamo Franchini set up the factory of the same name for dishes. It was taken over in 1955 by Giovanni Battista Giorgini: the new owner found the brand’s old moulds in the warehouse, a heritage that was to inspire the new creations. Since 1975, his grandson Giovanni Battista Fadigati has been chairman of the company, continuing in the direction traced out by his grandfather: all the objects are made and painted by hand, to preserve the value of this extraordinary tradition, without forgetting design. The workshop offers a historical overview of the art of the table from its origins, in the 18th century, to the most contemporary stylistic choices.
