Francesca Cardona is a restorer specialized in the restoration of stone materials and decorated architectural surfaces, such as mural paintings, frescoes, stuccoes and mosaics. She studied Cultural Heritage Restoration and Conservation at “La Venaria Reale”: during her studies, she had the opportunity to carry out some remarkable interventions, including the restoration of the mosaic floors of the “Domus della Caccia Antica” in Pompeii, the painted stuccoes inside Biella’s Baptistry, and the ones in the noble halls of Moncalieri Castle.
After working for a few companies in the field, in 2021 she opened her own workshop in Cavaglià, near Biella. Today she carries out conservative interventions on cultural heritage for public, private or religious institutions in the province of Biella and throughout Italy. For her, training continuously is crucial: she often attends specialty courses, in order to deepen her knowledge of ornate and high-end decorations. She also provides consulting, design and documentation services, as well as exhibition installation and dismantling services.
