Matteo Libanoro is a Piedmont-based master scagliola worker and decorator. After graduating in 1993 from the Art Lyceum in Novara and in 1995 from the Academy of Applied Arts in Milan, he specialised in creating artificial marbles, created through decorating, painting, airbrush painting, trompe l’oeil and other techniques. In his workshop Artidea opened in 2008 in Gattinara, he creates panels and decorative elements using the ancient technique of scagliola, but also using acrylic, watercolours, graphite and sanguine pencil. This fine craftsman also creates finishings for interiors and exteriors, panelling in waterproof Moroccan tadelakt plaster, smooth stucco and marmorino as well as restoration work on fixtures, frescos and mural decorations. The Piedmont region awarded him the title of “Eccellenza Artigiana”.
