Growing up in a family of craftsmen, from his earliest years Roberto Bestetti has always expressed his passion for working in wood and paint. After completing his high school and then his higher studies in Restoration and Cultural Heritage, he started out on his career. Today he conducts restoration works on paintings, furniture and items of ancient sacred art, contemporary pieces and even design objects. During his career, he has restored many important works from the 1800s and 1900s including paintings by Segantini and Fontana and has worked in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Israel where he helped restore the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. He currently lectures at the Accademia Aldo Galli – IED in Como, the Academy of Fine Art in Palermo and at the University of Turin in collaboration with the Venaria Reale.
